Department of Chemistry

The Chemistry Department of the college is successfully running since the introduction of Science (Medical and Non- Medical) from the session 1987-88 with the tradition of high quality teaching in Analytical, Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry. The Chemistry Department has a pivotal position in the area for its leadership role in training for research and has provided support by way of access to its seminar library, analytical facilities, instrumentation, support and guidance. Many students of medical and non-medical streams have brought laurels to the department and serving the society in different capacities.

The department of chemistry has highly qualified and dedicated staff who are always willing to help the students for their preparation for different competitive examinations.

Department of chemistry offers Organic, Inorganic and physical specialisations in the 5^th and 6^th semester. Department creates the opportunity for the interested students to participate in different co-curricular activities. The department also arranges educational tours on the demands of the students at the end of each academic year.

The department has two fully equipped modern laboratories which are designed to support and illustrate chemical concepts studied in the lecture portion of the course, as well as to introduce important laboratory techniques and encourage analytical thinking. Each laboratory has a capacity of 36 students to perform practical at one time.
