Eligibility

First Year

1. A pass in the Senior Secondary (+2) Examination (Academic Stream) conducted by H.P. Board of School Education or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the various bodies of the H.P. U.
2. Provided that the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination with science stream shall be given preference in admission to B.Sc. programme.
3. Provided that the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination with commerce steam shall be given preference in admission to B.Com. programme.
4. Provided that the candidates who have passed qualifying examination with arts stream/humanities shall be given preference in admission to BA programme.
5. Provided that the candidates who have passed qualifying examination with arts stream/humanities shall be given preference in admission to BA programme.
6. The Candidate in 1st Year of UG Course will be admitted on the merit basis (percentage of marks/grade obtained in 10+2 examination).
7. The student with compartment case is not eligible for admission.

Second Year/ Third Year

Age Limit

Maximum age limit for admission to B.A./B.Sc./B.Com courses is 23 for male candidates who belong to the general category and 25 years for girls as on 1^st July 2023. A relaxation of 3 years is applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ ST category. The Vice Chancellor may permit age relaxation up to maximum of 6 months.

Other Eligibility Conditions

• Clearly pass and compartment cases of B.A./B.Sc./B/Com. 1st and 2nd are eligible for admission to higher classes.
• RL or CS candidates will apply for provisional admission in the same class on the due dates. It they fail to get the admission regularised within 10 days of the declaration of result, their admission will be cancelled and no refund will be made. Admission under this clause will be subject to the provisions of eligibility as notified by H.P.U.
• A failed student seeking admission will have to submit a declaration as given in Annexure-II of H.P.U. Condition-on the basis of result of re-evaluation no retrospective benefit such as permission to higher class will be claimed.
• Students who have passed in re-evaluation will not be admitted to higher class after the expiry of scheduled date of admission as per rules under ordinance 6.70(e) H.P.U.

NOTE:

• A Candidate furnishing any wrong information will be punished with cancellation of admission/registration. Suitable disciplinary and legal action will be taken. Dues paid will be forfeited.
• All admissions are provisional till these are confirmed/approved by HPU and the college will assume no responsibility for non-approval of a particular case. For any reason, including equivalence cases.
• In the absence of actual marks sheet from Univ./Board in respect of +2 of equivalent exam where the result is shown in grades/standards the minimum percentage of marks for each subject given in standard will be taken into consideration for determining eligibility.
• The admission schedule notified by the university will be strictly adhered to. No relaxation will be given in this regard.
• The decision of the Principal will be final in the matter of admission and he has the power to refuse of terminate any admission without assigning any reason or also on disciplinary grounds.

Reservation:

1. Reservation Roster 200-Point as approved by the State Government will be applicable.
2. Total management seats will be 10% of the seats for Himachali Bonafide candidates i.e. 10% of 42 seats in case of 50 seats and 10% of 85 seats in case of 100 seats allotted to the Colleges as per Orders of the Hon’ble High Court of H.P. vide CWP No.4500 of 2009 dated July 29, 2010. The management seats will be filled up by the management of Institute on the basis of merit of the Entrance Test through its own counselling in a transparent manner. There shall be no reservation, whatsoever, in respect of the prescribed management quota seats. The basic eligibility criteria shall remain the same as in case of other students.

Documents required at the time of Admission

1. Matriculation certificate for Date of Birth.
2. 10+2 marks sheet.
3. H.P. Domicile certificate for girl students (for exemption in tuition fee).
4. Minimum 40% disability certificate, sports/cultural quota and category certificate in case of students seeking admission against these seats.
5. Original character certificate from Head of the Institution last attended. In case of private candidates the character certificate must have been issued by a Gazetted officer/ Panchayat Pradhan/ Ward Counsellor but not older than 6 months from the day of submission of admission form.
6. For seat against the ‘single girl child category’ an Affidavit proclaiming the same from the parents is to be submitted with the admission form.
7. A student seeking admission from Board/University other than H.P. will have to upload the copy of migration certificate and the original certificate has to be submitted at the time of counselling.
8. Affidavits should be provided wherever applicable.
9. Certificate of SC/ ST from Magistrate Class-1 (Authorized Signatory) should be provided by those seeking relaxation in age/ marks.
10. Any gap (latest) in the academic career of the applicant must be supported by a documentary evidence/ affidavit as proof of his/ her activities during the period of gap.
