The department of History launched its journey since 1973 as General Subject. There is one full time teacher only. The department has produced innumerable students throughout the years. Many students of the department have established themselves in various sectors, especially as accomplished teachers in various Higher Secondary Schools and Degree Colleges. The students scoring highest marks in the par-III final examinations are awarded medal by the college.

Besides teaching the department organize class wise seminar, debate and prepares students for quiz competition and group discussion, so that they can keep pace with the time. The faculty member is always needy to render all possible assistance and guidance to students within and outside the campus as and when required. The faculty member and students of the department are regularly participating in the institutional social responsibility and extension activities organized by the NSS and Health unit of the college.

Consequently students get through the final examination with flying colors every year and go for further higher studies.
